Many people have expressed feeling overwhelmed by the idea of self-care as they see it as having to find the time in their already busy lives to do something else or having to make a change in their routine that feels daunting or overwhelming. Self-care does not have to be time consuming and can be practiced by making small changes to your daily routine.
It is hard to describe the impact that Daisy had on our lives and the program. She was donated to Karen in October of 2011, becoming one of the founding members of the Stable Connections team. Daisy’s well-mannered, relaxed personality made her a favorite for many people and a perfect horse for all aspects of our programming.
We know our work is important, but sometimes we don’t realize the true impact it has on others. Last night helped reaffirm the importance Stable Connections has on the community and the lasting impact on the individuals we help.
For those of you who have not had the pleasure of meeting Daisy, she is the epitome of a “Gentle Giant” - a mild mannered, sweet, goofy, curious horse that is often a favorite for many people that come to our facility. She has the unique ability to make people laugh while also giving people a sense of feeling cared for and nurtured.
