Professionalism & Commitment
Our facilitating team includes licensed therapists and trained equine specialists who are experts in horse behavior. When appropriate, additional qualified specialists may join our team to help meet specific needs. Our team approach allows us to provide the highest quality services for our clients.

Karen graduated in 1980 with a degree in Physical Therapy, and attended Lyndon State College working towards her degree in Special Education with a minor in Psychology.
Her desire to work with horses and at-risk youth led Karen to become the first person to be EAGALA Certified with an EAGALA Individual Military Services Designation in Vermont and New Hampshire.
In 2009, Stable Connections made its home on land owned by Karen in Guildhall, Vermont.

Kathy Peters, LICSW

Kathy graduated with a B.S. degree in Recreation from Green Mountain College and then went on to get her Masters in Social Work from the University of Vermont. A Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker who has spent the majority of her career working with children and families, Kathy discovered Equine Assisted Learning when working for a residential treatment center where participants had the opportunity to participate in programs at Stable Connections. Joining the Stable Connections team after seeing the impact that the program had, Kathy’s recreation experience, combined with her experience working in the mental health field, makes EAL a good match.

Stephanie Gould, LCMHC

Stephanie Gould, LCMHC
Psychotherapist
Stephanie has worked within various populations and clinical settings over the course of her career as a mental health counselor. Her experiences include supporting soldiers and airmen serving in the NH National Guard, working in various roles within the NH community mental health system, serving students in higher education, providing clinical management in residential substance use disorder treatment programming, and working on various state grants to improve access to care in NH. Stephanie holds a Bachelor of Arts in General Studies, and Communications from Texas Tech University as well as a Master’s in Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Plymouth State University.

Joli Lunderville is a sophomore at the University of Maine at Orono and joined the Stable Connections team five years ago. She is currently majoring in Veterinary Science, and has a bright future ahead. She is a valuable member of the Stable Connections team.

Gayle Crandall

Gayle Crandall
Stable Staff
Gayle is the youngest of six children and grew up in Vermont riding ponies and digging in the dirt. After graduating high school in 1987, she joined the family landscaping business, and later in life began working with horses at Cornell’s Equestrian Center. Currently, in addition to her work at Stable Connections, she serves as a para educator in the middle school at Brighton Elementary.
